Kitzbuhel ski resort is part of Tyrol region. This mega resort considered one of the most perfect places to ski in Austria.

The ski area

Kitzbuhel has an amazingly long ski season beginning in mid-October and last to early May. As for the slopes, Kitzbuhel local area divided by two sides.

Kitzbuhel has an ocean of off-pists to explore when the snow condition allows it. the best snow can be reached in the highest point above Pass Thurn, and there is also the wonderful Giggling run, aka route 33 which start at Steinbergkogel area and end near Hechenmoos bus station, at the village of Aurach.
Freestylers are up for a treat, Snowpark Kitzbuhel contains area for all levels from beginners to pro. There is also park at Kitzbuheler Horn. No half pipe and now airbag though, in both.

Where to stay in Kitzbuhel

When you are asking yourself where to stay? If you want to be in the center of attention the town of Kitzbuhel is the place to stay with a vibrant atmosphere and great variety of accommodation.
To the west is Kirchberg in Tirol and to the south Jochberg, both relatively quieter towns with a good access to Kitzbuhel ski area, and cheaper prices.

You can travel from Kirchberg or Jochberg to Kitzbuhel via Ski bus all day, the bus leave in intervals of 15 minutes at rush hours. from , first skibus arrive to Hahnenkamm Bahn at 09:07 and the last one leaves at 18:24 from there.
From Jochberg, the first skibus arrive to Hahnenkamm Bahn at 08:20 and the last one leaves the gondola at 17:00. After that, you can get a taxi price is 21€ to 25€ to Kirchberg and 25 to 31 euros to Jochberg.

Kitzbuhel center of town is a charming medieval quarter decorated with delicate painted frescoes, rightly deserves its reputation as the most beautiful ski town in Austria. The center is big magical pedestrian area sorounded with restaurants and luxurious boutiques and designer clothes.

Apres ski

Regarding apres ski, we recommend you pop over The Mocking stube on your skiing back to village. It is located at end of slopes of the Hahnenkamm and it is great place to relax with a beer before heading to town.
Back at town we suggest you give a visit to The Londoner or spoho apres ski which have quite wild parties, on the other side of the street
